WHAT WE DO

Access the Globe

Our Youth Provision; Access The Globe is kindly funded by BBC Children In Need as we support the personal and social development of young people by offering them alternative education, activities, community dining and just as importantly, a safe, grown up environment where they can meet with their friends and make new ones too.

Held at Sams Coffee House on Bevan Street East, our space is relaxed, modern and inclusive to all of those that are aged eight to eighteen.

We are open on a Tuesday and Wednesday between the hours of 16.30 – 19.30 as well as each Thursday when we’re open at the later time of 18.00 – 21.00.

Whilst our set days are subject to change, we do try our best to adhere to the following weekly programme:

Tuesday’s: Informal Education

Wednesday’s: Come Dine With Us (eat for free and get involved with cooking if you like)

Thursday’s: Our place (your youth club – simply come in, chill out and have some fun)

So if you’re bored, have nowhere to hang out, and fancy a free hot chocolate, pop along, meet the staff and see what opportunities could be available to you.

Rock On music sessions at Access Youth Clubs

Regular activities at the Globe include rock, pop and DJ music sessions run by Suffolk Artlink as part of their new music programme, Rock On.

Rock On is for young people who love their music - and want to make more of it. Sessions are open to all youth club members, from complete beginners to more experienced musicians and offer lots of different ways of making music, from general have-a-go periods, to one-to-one tuition and band practice. There will be opportunities to create your own DJ mixes and upload them to websites like Mixcloud and, for those who want to, the chance to gain an Arts Award as part of the regular sessions.

Making music makes other differences – it helps people meet and make new friends, share ideas and learn together, and it can help to build relationships, gain confidence, and improve self-esteem.

To find out more about the sessions, please contact Candida on 01986 873955 or email candida@suffolkartlink.org.uk

Rock On sessions take place at the Globe on alternate Tuesdays, starting on Tuesday, 24th April, from 5pm – 7:00pm.
