John Bunyard

My professional background is in social housing. I joined Waveney District Council in 1974 as a Housing Assistant, before becoming a Housing Welfare Officer, progressing then to Senior Lettings Officer. This was followed by a period as Housing Advice Officer, primarily dealing with people facing homelessness, before I was appointed as Housing Service Manager. In this role I was responsible for the management of the council’s housing estates and management of over 5,000 tenancies. I also managed the Traveller’s site and the CCTV service, being responsible for 62 staff. I retired in 2008, and joined the Trust as a Trustee, and served as Vice Chair from 2010 to 2012, and I had the privilege of serving as Chair of the Trust from 2012 to 2018. I am immensely proud of the staff and the work carried out by the Trust, and equally proud to serve as a Trustee.
